Mysterious submarine spotted off coast of Broward County


It's not unusual to see submarines off the coast of Broward County but there was a sighting on Labor Day that remains a bit of a mystery.

A video camera recorded the long black vessel cruising north and south between Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood beaches and then the video was uploaded to YouTube.

The U.S. Navy doesn't discuss local submarine activity or acknowledge specific vessel locations, but nautical charts show a restricted area about four miles east of Port Everglades.
