Pakistan Test Fires Medium Range Ballistic Missile - Ghauri V

Ghauri V missilePakistan today test-fired a new version of medium-range Ghauri V missile, which is capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

The missile, with a strike range of 1,300 km (800 miles), was launched from an undisclosed location, an official statement here said. The test-firing marked the end of a military exercise..

Although Pakistan frequently tests different versions of its missiles, the announcement comes a day after New Delhi and Islamabad concluded a crucial round of peace talks aimed at resolving their differences, including the thorny issue of Kashmir.

Pakistan's Hatf Ghauri missiles are based on the North Korean No-Dong Missile Class although Pakistan claims to have indigenously developed the missiles.
