A senior Iranian commander says Iran Navy is planning to test-fire its latest indigenous surface-to-air missile in the coming days.
The new Ra’d (Thunder) missile can strike medium-range aerial targets and will be test-fired during the Iranian Navy’s Velayat 91 drills which were launched earlier on Friday, Rear Admiral Amir Rastegar said.
Iran Navy successfully test-fired its first indigenous medium-range anti-radar missile, Mehrab (Altar), during the massive 10-day Velayat 90 naval exercises in December 2011.
