Northrop Grumman provided updates on its Advanced Hawkeye E-2D Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft, to follow the current E2-C aircraft, at the Farnborough Air Show this week.So far, the E-2D has completed more than 130 test flights and 369 flight hours, said U.S. Navy Capt. Tom Carroll, Naval Air Systems Command and NavAir's program manager for the Hawkeye. Two E-2D aircraft have been completed and another three currently are being built, he added.
The E-2D is "deep into" the development test and evaluation phase, said Jerry Spruill, program director of Airborne Early Warning and Control international programs for Northrop Grumman.
