Iran’s military capabilities at the service of Mideast security

Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Sunday that Iran’s defense capabilities are at the service of the Middle East’s peace and security.

“Iran’s defense equipment will only target the opportunistic aggressors and the enemies of the Islamic Republic,” Najjar told reporters on the sidelines of Sunday’s cabinet session.

Iran last week test-fired nine long- and middle-range surface to surface missiles in response to a recent maneuver staged by Israel simulating a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The missiles included an upgraded version of the Shahab-3 missile, which officials have said could reach targets 2,000km away.
