HAL to supply seven ALH to Ecuador

Defence Public Sector Undertaking, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will supply seven "Dhruv" Advanced Light Helicopters to the Ecuadorian Air Force.

HAL managed to get the order in the face of competition from Israel firm Elbit, European giant Eurocopter and one of the biggest helicopter manufacturers of the world, the Russian Kazan.

HAL's offer of $50.7 million for 7 helicopters was about 32 per cent lower than the second lowest bid from Israel.
