The aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk will leave its Japanese home port of Yokosuka for the United States on Wednesday, ending its nearly 10-year mission in Japan.The Navy will replace the Kitty Hawk, the Navy’s last conventionally powered carrier, with the nuclear-powered carrier George Washington in August.
A fire on the George Washington last week has raised safety fears among Yokosuka citizens.
