Rafael Upgrades German Tornados with Litening Navigation and Targeting Pod

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. will provide the German Air Force with Litening navigation and targeting pods for its Tornado and Eurofighters. The $25M deal is a follow-up to the German's previous order for a similar amount.

The Litening is one of the most advanced navigation and targeting pods available today. The pod is equipped with day and night sights and multiple sensor array that enables high confidence target selection, identification, precise strike and damage assessment.

Litening enables fighter air crews to carry out a wide range of missions, including: detection / recognition /identification and laser designation of air-to-ground and maritime targets.
