The USS John F. Kennedy makes its final visit to Boston this March before a scheduled decommissioning in late spring.Mothballing the 38-year-old ship will reduce the number of aircraft carriers in the Navy's force from twelve to eleven.
The vessel will remain in a (quote) "state of preservation" until the U-S George H.W. Bush, a new nuclear powered carrier, is commissioned in late 2008 or early 2009.
