Lockheed Martin could lose a Canadian Forces contract worth more than $100 million after Northrop Grumman complained to a Canadian trade tribunal that the process to procure targeting pods for fighter aircraft was unfair.The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has agreed in part with Northrop’s complaint and has ordered the Canadian government to re-evaluate the bids for the CF-18 Advanced Multi-Role Infrared Sensor (AMIRS) project by Sept. 30.
Canada’s Defence Department announced in March that the Lockheed Martin Sniper pod had been selected as the winner of the 126 million Canadian dollar ($123 million) AMIRS project.
