Russia’s Severomorsk Warship to Participate in Barents Sea Drills

RFS Severomorsk (DDG 619)The Severomorsk large anti-submarine ship set sail to the Barents Sea where it will take part in a series of military exercises, the press office of the Russian Northern Fleet reported.

"The crew of the large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk will practice fighting an artillery battle with a simulated enemy surface ship and conduct firing at sea targets with AK-100 versatile-caliber artillery systems. They will also practice repelling aerial attacks at different altitudes and destroy simulated aerial targets," the report read.

In addition, the crew will pay attention to anti-aircraft warfare techniques and will practice cooperating with naval aviation in a submarine hunt.
