Could the UK's New Aircraft Carriers be Compromised by Cyber Attacks?

The security of Britain's new £6 billion aircraft carriers could be compromised by cyber attacks because of their reliance on ageing software, according to a research team at Lancaster University.

It says computer software will have a dramatically shorter life than the ships themselves and enemies could try to exploit social media to undermine the security of personnel on board.

One of the authors of the paper, Dr Dan Prince, spoke to BFBS Radio about the potential threat.
