USS Dwight D. Eisenhower enters maintenance period

USS Dwight D. EisenhowerOn Tuesday, September 10, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower started her scheduled 14-month yard period, making her way up the Elizabeth River from Naval Station Norfolk to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, according to Navy officials.

What does this mean?
This means that USS Dwight D. Eisenhower will be undergoing maintenance and repairs for a period of time.

The work is being done at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia.
