Warship mast section arrives in SA


The distinctive mast section of the first air warfare destroyer, the Hobart, has been delivered to Techport Australia.

The mast was manufactured by Port Adelaide company MG Engineering, which hired 12 additional staff over the past two years in connection with the work.

The 22-metre mast will house elements of the Aegis weapon system, including the navigation radar and the SPQ-9B, or "Spook", horizon-search radar.
