Brazilian Defence Minister arrives in India to boost military ties

Scorpene class submarineBrazilian Defence Minister Celso Amorim arrived here on Monday to boost bilateral military cooperation with India.

During his three-day visit, Amorim is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Manmoham Singh and Antony during his visit. He would also be visiting certain military installations.

Both countries, boasting big armies, hoped to reduce the technological dependence on other advanced nations and would also discuss the possibility of scientific and technological cooperation in military hardware and software development.
