This is so sad and so pathetic. The British are taking the Ark Royal, youngest of their three small carriers, out of service, as well as all of their Harrier jet fighters. Soon the Royal Navy, the navy that helped pioneer carrier warfare, will have no carrier-based jet aircraft. The number of their surface warships is being reduced to a pathetic 19, meaning that India, its former colony, will have a larger number of surface warships in commission than the Royal Navy. For an island nation like England to let the Royal Navy decline in this manner is simply shameful. I hope a war does NOT start soon where they will need a large navy (as in the Falklands). Because, if it does, they will not have one.
