Iran to dispatch more warships to international waters

Jamaran DestroyerIran’s Navy plans to deploy more battleships and destroyers in the international waters, Admiral Gholamreza Khadem Beigham said on Monday.

“More flotillas and also Jamaran destroyer will be dispatched to the waters of friendly countries and (other) distant international waters,” Khadem Beigham, the deputy commander of the Navy, said upon the return of the ninth Iranian flotilla from the Gulf of Aden.

He went on to say that the Islamic Republic will maintain its military presence in the Gulf of Aden as long as piracy and “sea terrorism” exists in that region.
