Sailors from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman rescued eight Iranian mariners in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday, the U.S. Navy said Thursday.An F/A-18 attack jet spotted the Iranians' burning vessel about 50 miles from the carrier, according to a statement from the Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.
Two helicopters were dispatched to assist the stranded sailors, with a search-and-rescue swimmer dropped into the water for the men.
