MoD reform plans to be outlined

HMS Prince of WalesDefence secretary Liam Fox will outline his vision for the future of the Ministry of Defence today (Friday).

Dr Fox is expected to hand over greater control of the armed forces to military chiefs in order to make the department more effective and efficient.

Personnel numbers in the Royal Navy, Army and RAF are to be reduced, with the latter potentially shrinking to its smallest size since the first world war.
