Thales to support British Daring Class

HMS DaringThales was selected to support the British navy's new Type 45 Daring-class destroyers with support for the ship's communications technologies.

European defense company Thales says its English unit received the award from BAE Systems Surface Ships. Under the deal, Thales UK will provide support for the fully integrated communications system on six of the navy's Daring-class destroyers.

Thales says it will support the next-generation destroyers with internal and external communications systems services in what the company calls mobilization and in-service support phases designed to ensure a more proactive support solution.
