The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified that nation's Congress f a possible sale to Egypt of 450 AGM-114K3A Hellfire II missiles and associated parts, equipment, training and logistical support for approximately $51 million.
The agency told US lawmakers the proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States “by helping to improve the security of a friendly country which has been and continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.”
It will also contribute to the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the military capabilities of Egypt and furthering weapon system standardisation and interoperability with US forces.
