2 missing after MSDF helicopter crashes and sinks off Nagasaki

SH60J helicopterTwo crewmembers aboard a Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter that crashed and sank off the coast of Nagasaki Prefecture have gone missing, while a third was rescued, officials said.

The SH60J helicopter, which belonged to the MSDF Omura Air Base, went missing off the coast of Nagasaki at about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The base launched a search and found one of the crewmembers in the sea about 25 kilometers off Nagasaki's Iojima island at about 7:45 p.m.
