Saab AB to upgrade radar on Canadian Navy frigates

HMCS Ottawa (Halifax class)Swedish defence and security group Saab AB revealed today (1 June) that it has been awarded a contract from Lockheed Martin Canada to upgrade the 2D radar, Sea Giraffe 150 HC, on the Canadian Navy's Halifax Class frigates.

Deliveries under this contract are scheduled for 2010-2017. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

The radar upgrade work forms part of the modernisation of the frigates being undertaken by Lockheed Martin Canada.
