Crew members on a Canadian naval frigate were forced to fight a large fire in the engine room last week as the warship was on a training exercise off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canwest News Service has learned.The fire broke out at about 10 p.m. last Thursday in the forward engine room on board HMCS Fredericton, one of the navy's 12 frigates, which has recently come out of a refit in advance of an international deployment this summer.
There were no serious injuries from the fire.
