Russian DM: Cause of failure of Bulava missile launch found


A defective ignition cylinder is to blame for the unsuccessful launch of a Bulava sea-based ballistic missile, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.

"An ignition cylinder failed, the defective charge was not powerful enough to break the circuit," the Itar-Tass news agency quoted Russian army armaments chief, Deputy Defense Minister Vladimir Popovkin as saying at a press conference.

Russia has worked out several measures to continue the trials, he said.
