Britain risks delays in deploying a nuclear deterrent unless it keeps tight control of developing and budgeting for a new fleet of nuclear submarines, a watchdog said on Wednesday.Parliament gave the go-ahead in 2007 to government plans to replace the Trident submarine-based nuclear weapons system, which is nearing the end of its life.
The project was estimated to cost between 15 billion and 20 billion pounds at 2006/2007 prices.
