French Army takes delivery of 25 UAS systems and orders another 35

The Délégation Générale pour l’Armement (DGA), the French Procurement Agency, delivered the first 25 DRAC (Drone de Reconnaissance au Contact) UAS systems to the French Army on Monday June 30, 2008.

In addition, the DGA placed an order for 35 additional DRAC UAS systems on June 30, 2008 with EADS Defence & Security.

The DRAC is a mini UAS system of the latest generation that is made up of 2 unmanned aircraft equipped with electro-optical and infrared payloads communicating with a compact control station by means of data link through an auto-tracking antenna.
