Pentagon eyes $200 mln bomb, missile sale to South Korea

The Pentagon unveiled a proposal on Monday to sell South Korea a munitions and weapons package valued at up to $200 million to equip 21 more Boeing Co F-15K fighter aircraft.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency, an arm of the Pentagon, said South Korea had requested, among other things, 125 AIM-120C-7 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles; 35 AGM-65G Maverick missiles; and 280 Joint Direct Attack Munition tail kits.

The JDAM tail kits, made by Boeing, turn gravity bombs into precision-guided bombs.
