£3.8 billion Rosyth Dockyard carriers contract to be signed

THE contract for the £3.8 billion aircraft carriers project, which will secure the future of Rosyth Dockyard for years to come, will finally be signed next week.

Pen will be put to paper on Wednesday confirming that the Royal Navy’s biggest ever vessels – HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales – will be assembled at Rosyth.

After years of frustrating wrangling, it is now full steam ahead and work on the first ship will start at the yard in just five weeks time.
