Russia dismantles 6 missiles

Russian officials said six outdated Topol mobile missile systems have been dismantled under a strategic arms reduction treaty.

It took nearly a week, ending on Wednesday, to dismantle the Strategic Missile Forces said the systems, the Russian information agency Novosti reported.

The Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, also known as START-I, was signed by the United States and the Soviet Union on July 31, 1991, five months before the USSR collapsed.
