Raytheon wins Korea's Patriot contract

Raytheon announced Monday it won an initial contract to provide engineering services for the U.S. sale of the Patriot air and missile defense system to South Korea.

The Massachusetts-based company said through a statement that it expects significant follow-on awards to complete the system integration as well as training of Korean operators.

Raytheon is the prime contractor for the U.S. government's foreign military sales of the defense system, called the SAM-X in South Korea.
