British company BAE Systems said last week it has produced a revolutionary new technology to design and build submarines.
BAE Systems said in a statement that its scientists and engineers had "developed a technology, which could revolutionize the design and build of future submarines and lead to potential cost savings of millions of pounds."
"Developed by the company's Advanced Technology Center -- ATC, the 'Through Hull Data Link' system uses wireless technology to pass data through several inches of solid steel, removing the need to create holes in the hull of a submarine and ensuring data can be transmitted to external equipment in a safer and less costly way," BAE Systems said.
