Australian Army gains 2 extra choppers

The Australian Army has taken possession of two new helicopters it says will allow troops to fly safely at night and in poor weather.

The MRH 90 choppers, each worth about $50 million, were handed over to the Army and Navy at a ceremony in Brisbane this morning.

Army Aviation Assistance director-general Brigadier Andrew Dudgeon says they are the first of 46 multi-role helicopters to replace the Sea King and Black Hawk chopper fleets.
