Norwegian F-310 class frigate “Helge Ingstad” launched

The fourth of the five F-310 class frigates that the Fene-Ferrol Shipyard is building for the Royal Norwegian Navy was launched on Friday 23rd November.

The F-313 was christened “Helge Ingstad” in honour of the famous 20th century Norwegian explorer.

The ship’s godmother was the explorer’s great grand-daughter, Kristin Ingstad Sandberg, and the ceremony was presided over by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Jan Erik Finseth, in the company of Navantia Chairman, Juan Pedro Gómez Jaén and Admiral Morten Jacobsen from Noruegian Defence Logistics.
