General Dynamics NASSCO Delivers USNS Richard E. Byrd

Ship is the Third T-AKE Delivered in 2007

General Dynamics NASSCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, today delivered USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE 4) to the U.S. Navy.

The ship is the third T-AKE-class ship delivered by the San Diego shipyard in 2007, the fourth overall.

"Delivering three ships in one year is extraordinary in U.S. military shipbuilding today and demonstrates the significant shipbuilding capability of the NASSCO-Navy team," said Frederick J. Harris, president of General Dynamics NASSCO.
