Delivery of Stealth warships as per revised schedule

India's efforts to develop Stealth warships indigenously have suffered a setback due to design and weapon integration plans leading to delay in delivery by more than three years.

But, now the government says the shortcomings have been overcome and the delivery of both the Shivalik class Stealth warships and Missile destroyers would be as " per revised schedule".

Stating this in Lok Sabha today, Defence Minister A K Antony said in a written answer that the three stealth Frigates being built at Mazagoan Docks in Mumbai were scheduled to be delivered by December 2005, December 2006 and December 2007.
