Lockheed Martin wins $2.8M follow-on contract

Lockheed Martin has announced it has been awarded a $2.8 million follow-on contract by the Boeing Co. to support full Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod functionality on the U.S. Air Force B-1B aircraft.

The sniper pods, which are currently used on F-15E, F-16, A-10C and F/A-18 aircraft broadens the range of options of warfighters. Among other things, it provides the B-1B with real-time bomb damage assessment capability.

The work on the contract will be done by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando.
