Trident submarine Michigan refitted for cruise missiles

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usThe Navy is holding a ceremony tomorrow (at one) at Bremerton to mark the return to service of the former Trident submarine Michigan.

After two years at the naval shipyard it has been converted from carrying nuclear Tridents to carry conventional cruise missiles.

The Michigan will be based at Bangor. It's the second of 4 Trident subs to be converted. The first was the Ohio.
