India to make MiG-29 aircraft engines

Mig-29 BaazThe engines for MiG-29 fighter aircraft will now be manufactured in India.

An agreement in this regard will be signed during the visit of Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov here on January 23-24.

The decision to sign the agreement was taken today at a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters.
