Russia delivers combat helicopters to Venezuela under contracts

Mi-35M HindThe Rostov Helicopter Plant has sent four combat and one transport helicopter to Venezuela under existing contracts with the Latin American country, a company official said Thursday.

The contracts stipulate the delivery of 10 Mi-35M Hind attack helicopters and three Mi-26T Halo heavy-lift transport helicopters by the end of 2006, the official said.

"The Mi-26T helicopter has been sent by sea, and the Mi-35M helicopters are being transported by cargo planes," he said, adding that the plant delivered the first four Mi-35 gun-ships to Venezuela in July 2006.
