NH90 Helicopter Lands on Mistral

Following the maiden flight of the Italian Navy's first serial-production NH90 NFH (NATO frigate helicopter) on Dec. 15, 2005, at AgustaWestland’s facility in Vergiate, Italy, another Italian-made machine, the NH90 NFH PT5 prototype, achieved another important milestone when, on March 9, it landed onboard the Mistral, the French Navy's brand-new 22,000-ton force-projection and command vessel, while the ship was cruising south of Hyères in the Mediterranean. This marked the European military helicopter’s debut with the new generation of French ships it is earmarked to team up with in the near future.
