Malaysia's Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS) has completed a steel-cutting ceremony for the country's first Second Generation Patrol Vessel - Littoral Combat Ship (SGPV-LCS) vessel, a company spokesperson told IHS Jane's on 15 June.The ceremony, held at the company's shipyard in Lumut on 12 June, was attended by Deputy Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Bakri.
"The first LCS vessel is expected to be completed in early 2019, with subsequent vessels at 10-month intervals thereafter," said the company.
