Prawit off to China to build defence ties

Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon will visit China on Wednesday, and a Defence Ministry source said a planned submarine purchase is in line for discussions with Beijing.

Defence Ministry spokesman Maj Gen Kongcheep Tuntrawanich said on Sunday the minister's trip will last from Wednesday to Friday and comes at the invitation of China's Defence Minister ChangWanquan.

It is his second visit to China in six months and the third meeting between the two ministers.
