In what is likely to give a major boost to the Indian Navy, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar arrived at the Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL) to ‘undock’ the first of the six Scorpene submarines being built under Project 75 on Monday.
According to Naval sources, a grand ceremony is being held at Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL) for the official ''floating out'' of the first Scorpene submarine.
Parrikar is also expected to review the progress of the Project 75, under which construction of six Scorpene subs has been underway in collaboration with French defence major DCNS.
