New fighter rolls out to loud rock music
With a rumble of loud rock music, a flashing light show, the curtain fell and Australia's first new Lightning jet fighter stood revealed.
This Hollywood style event, featuring didgeridoo music and delivery of an Aboriginal message stick to the RAAF, marked the official rollout of aircraft AU-1, a grey-painted shark of an aircraft - the RAAF's first Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning.
As many as 99 more will follow, though Australia has so far committed to buying 72.
