Russian Aircraft to Protect Transport of Syrian Chemical Weapons

Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrierVessels of Admiral Kuznetsov North Fleet aircraft carrier will protect the transportation of Syrian chemical weapons to be destroyed, said Russian general staff.

After replenish supplies of water, food and fuel, Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier and the escort vessels entered Mediterranean Sea by Gibraltar, heading eastern region up to Syrian coast, said officials quoted by Itar-Tass.

Eystein Kvarving, spokesman of the command that includes two empty cargo vessels and two frigates sent by Denmark and Norway to transport the chemical weapons, praised the presence of Russian aircraft carrier and Yancheng Chinese vessel's.
