SA govt wants subs built in Adelaide

Collins class submarineSouth Australia is calling on the new federal government to ensure the nation's next submarine fleet is built in Adelaide.

Defence Industries Minister Jack Snelling told state parliament on Tuesday the outgoing Labor federal government was committed to building the new fleet of 12 submarines in SA.

He said the coalition offered a similar commitment earlier this year but comments during the election campaign were less certain.
