Westminster kills two targets ‘stone-cold dead’ in Seawolf missile trials

Seawolf missile |HMS Westminster has successfully test fired two Seawolf missiles – killing their targets “stone-cold dead” off the Isle of Wight.

The Portsmouth-based frigate is trialling a new version of the canisters which hold the missiles safely in their silo, launching one armed and one data-gathering Seawolf at a target towed on a long cable behind an aircraft.

The Portsmouth-based warship is testing a new version of the canisters which hold the 1.9m (6ft 3in) tall missiles – which meant experimental firings at targets over the Channel.
