Sweden buys IRIS-T surface-to-air missiles

Iris-T |The Swedish Defence Material Administration has awarded Diehl Defence a contract to deliver IRIS-T SLS surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems for the country’s armed forces.

The units comprise of IRIS-T missile, missile launching stations and fire control systems.

Diehl said the surface-to-air-missile systems are aimed at improving Sweden’s air defence by protecting against air attacks from a large variety of threats including missiles, helicopters and aircraft.
