The Ministry of Defence is "not sure" whether the Royal Navy's future F-35 fighter jets are suffering from a design issue that could see aircraft shot down, DefenceManagement.com can reveal.Last week a leaked Pentagon report highlighted an aft visibility problem that could get the US Air Force F-35A variant of the Joint Strike Fighter "gunned [down] every time" in dogfights.
The UK MoD has now admitted it is unknown whether the same problem applies to the F-35B variant currently being procured for the Royal Navy.
